At Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C., we have focused our practice on handling personal injury cases both domestically and internationally. In 1984, Andrew L. Libo and Edward H. Gersowitz founded the firm after successful careers with other prestigious law firms. Jeff S. Korek joined the firm as a partner in 1992 and Michael A. Fruhling became partner in 1999.

Since the firm’s inception, our clients have remained our number one priority. We remain selective in choosing our cases to guarantee the personal attention and team approach that has made our firm so successful.

Meet the Partners

Edward H. Gersowitz

Edward Gersowitz received his bachelor of science at Cornell University and received his Juris Doctor at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He is admitted to the New York State Bar, United States District Courts, Southern District and Eastern District of New York.

Mr. Gersowitz focuses his practice on handling pharmaceutical, motor vehicle, municipal liability and toxic tort cases. As one of the founders of Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C., he also oversees many of the firm’s daily activities.

Mr. Gersowitz is the Vice President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), a Governor for the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and has been selected as a Super Lawyer since 2010. 

Jeff S. Korek

Jeff Korek received his bachelor of arts at State University of New York, Birmingham, New York and his Juris Doctorate at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University.

Mr. Korek is a key litigator, concentrating his practice in brain injury, construction accidents, toxic landfills and medical negligence. He is also a regular instructor and guest lecturer for the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute.

Mr. Korek is a past president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and a past president of the New York City Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (2006). He was appointed by three consecutive Presiding Judges of the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Department, to the Committee on Character and Fitness.

Michael A. Fruhling

Michael A. Freuhling received his bachelor of arts at Brandeis University. He continued his legal education and his Juris Doctorate at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

Mr. Fruhling concentrates in a wide variety of personal injury cases, especially medical malpractice cases, including Cerebral Palsy, Erb’s Palsy and other birth injuries. He also represents victims of surgical errors and misdiagnosis.

Mr. Fruhling is a proud recipient of the Alexander Fellow award. His long list of memberships includes the Board of Governors-American Association of Justice-New Jersey, Association of the Bar of the City of New York, New York County Lawyers Association, American Association of Justice (AAJ), New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), and the American Bar Association.
